Overview
Ghetto Star takes place in Palm Coast in 1986, following Jimmy Estrella, a struggling college student trying to keep his education and future intact despite having almost no money and mounting bills. With rent due, tuition to worry about, and no scholarship to fall back on, Jimmy rents a room at Camila’s house in the Eastside neighborhood, where everyone seems to know everyone else’s business. As he juggles college life and his financial problems, his friend DC introduces him to opportunities to make quick cash, forcing Jimmy to weigh the risks against his growing need for money. Along the way, the people he meets and the relationships he develops can shape both his personal life and his future.
Combining sandbox gameplay with a stylized 1980s Miami-inspired comic aesthetic, Ghetto Star lets you explore a free-roam map while managing rent, academic performance, and Heat—a measure tied to the consequences of your actions. Weekly expenses and branching story routes create a constant balancing act between staying in school, earning enough to survive, and deciding how far Jimmy is willing to go for a better life. With a notebook to help track objectives and multiple paths to explore, your choices influence how his story unfolds in a world where every opportunity comes with its own risks.
