Story Overview

Sitria calls itself the City of Dreams. For Luna, it is supposed to be a place where she can finally start over.

With much of her past missing from her memory, Luna arrives in Sitria and enrolls at the city’s university as a journalism student. A new school, new people, and a chance to build a life of her own seem like the perfect way to leave the unanswered questions behind. But the city has a strange way of making those questions impossible to ignore.

As Luna settles into university life, she becomes caught between friendships, rivalries, personal choices, and stories that don’t quite add up. Sitria gradually reveals a darker side beneath its modern surface, and the more Luna searches for answers, the more her own missing memories begin to feel connected to what is happening around her.

Nightmares of the Moon blends a story-driven adult visual novel with RPG-style progression and free-roam gameplay. Daily life, university activities, relationships, exploration, and Luna’s personal development all exist alongside a much larger mystery, with the planned story moving from the city’s ordinary routines toward increasingly unsettling revelations. The game is also built around its own original soundtrack, composed by Valkyn Creations for the project.

In Sitria, the line between dreams and nightmares may not be as clear as it first appears.

v0.1.1 Qol & Fixes Update

Added a new Fast Travel Mapallowing instant travel to:
- Apartment Living Room
- Neighborhood Park
- Neighborhood Center
- University of Sitria Yard
- Downtown Center (after visiting it once manually)
Outfits are automatically adjusted when necessary. Fast travel is disabled during SpaWorld shifts and certain story sequences.
Added the Downtown Mall. The Clothing Shop is now accessed through it.
Added the Home Appliance Store. Mostly unused for now, but relevant for the next update.
Restored mouse-wheel rollback. Please report any issue caused by it.
Rebalanced Arousal & Frustration:
- Arousal loss per time tick reduced by 30%
- Frustration gain increased by 50%
Improved automatic outfit changes. Sleeping, jogging and certain events now change Luna’s outfit automatically.
Made the Pizzeria job easier. Separate Easy/Normal difficulties may come later.
Doubled SpaWorld cleaning EXP gains.
Added an option to disable the Metro Molestation mini-game in the settings.
Metro timers now tick down faster when no molestation event occurs.
Fixed various typos and Chinese translation issues.

The free-roam gameplay allows you to explore the city of Sitria at your own pace. Take on part-time jobs to earn money, attend your classes, and nurture your relationships. Spend your time engaging in various activities — from nights at the club to relaxing spa visits or going for a jog — each choice offering dedicated events.

– SIDE CHARACTERS –

Meet a diverse cast of side characters — whether they are deeply tied to the main storyline or exist on the fringes of Sitria’s daily life. Each of them has a distinct personality, their own motivations, and a reason to be in the “City of Dreams.”

Among them, 3 will have a dedicated character storyline and a relationship system. Depending on the choices you make concerning them, it might shape the future of your playthrough.

– EROTISM / NSFW CONTENT –

Eroticism in the game is deeply rooted in themes of corruption and immorality. Luna begins her journey as a pure-hearted and rather shy young woman. Yet, for reasons she cannot fully understand, a strange force slowly gnaws at her mind — dragging buried memories back to the surface and exposing her to the twisted nature of humanity.

As these memories resurface, Luna develops a growing sense of unease and suppressed desire. This unresolved tension can evolve into dangerous sexual frustration, gradually pushing her toward corruption if left unchecked.

All characters depicted in any sexual or erotic context are strictly 18 years of age or older. Any characters identified as minors are never, under any circumstances—implicitly or explicitly—involved in or associated with sexual or erotic content.

– The Original Soundtrack –

The entire OST of Nightmares of the Moon is composed by myself with a lot of care and love (Certified 0% AI!). Even before I started working on this game, I had always dreamed of becoming a video game composer.

As a huge fan of soundtracks such as the NieR series, FromSoftware games, Hollow Knight, and Ori and the Will of the Wisps, I’ve always had a soft spot for emotional and epic orchestral/classical music.

With Nightmares of the Moon, I want to convey as much emotion as possible through the soundtrack. My goal is mainly to blend orchestral music with blues and jazz influences for the urban environments, while leaning into synth-driven and epic sounds for the nightmares, supernatural elements, and darker horror aspects of the game.
