Story Overview
Fran Carter appears to have everything: a wealthy husband, a luxurious apartment, and the kind of comfortable life most people would consider perfect. But with her husband James away on business, the carefully controlled routine of her marriage begins to crack. A seemingly harmless chess game with the building’s janitor, an unexpected drink, and a door left open at the wrong moment gradually pull Fran into situations she never intended to face.
Adding another layer of tension is Amanda, Fran’s neighbor, whose presence makes it increasingly difficult for Fran to keep her private life under control.
